ArborOne Farm Credit Pays $6.5 million in Patronage Refunds
Florence, SC (April 5, 2024) – ArborOne Farm Credit’s Board and Management are pleased to announce that the Association was profitable in 2023 and finished the year with strong capital. As a result, the Board of Directors approved the rollout of a spring patronage distribution, returning approximately $6.5 million to its customer-owners this April. With the distribution, ArborOne returns a cash patronage dividend equal to +/-51% of last year’s net profits back to its loan and crop insurance customers.
ArborOne Farm Credit’s unique cooperative structure gives it the ability to return some of its profits to its borrowers and crop insurance customers. Since 1989, ArborOne Farm Credit has paid more than $143 million in patronage refunds, which represent a portion of ArborOne’s net earnings, to eligible customer-owners. ArborOne Farm Credit is excited to share its success with its member/borrowers!
“If you’ve been an ArborOne Farm Credit customer for any time at all, you probably know how proud we are of our patronage program. This is an important benefit of doing business with an agricultural lending cooperative. Our customers share in the Association’s success when we have a good year. Conditions in the ag economy were challenging in 2023, but ArborOne Farm Credit remained profitable, and we are so pleased to pass on a portion of those profits to our borrower-members.” Bryant Sansbury, President and CEO
